Rough Week

My GSD (Dax)

Yep, I just need to vent…3am and suffering from total insomnia and a LONG day ahead of me tomorrow…Monday, not so good, but the wine fairy did stop by.  Tuesday started off great and quickly went down hill, especially at the bank, which brings us to Wednesday.

It’s safe to say your day is not starting out so hot when you awake at 5am to the smell of dog farts, and upon further investigation, find your GSD (who is normally crated at night) wandering the downstairs.  As I stood at the top of the stairs and looked down and saw him at the bottom, it was like he knew he did something he was not supposed to, threw his ears back, and darted away.  I go down to investigate and you know the day is not getting better when you step barefoot into a pile of hot, squishy dog poo on your favorite oriental rug…and then realize he peed on the rug too…and left many more piles for you to find on the white carpet in the office and dining room.  No, couldn’t have dumped on the hardwood that covers the rest of the downstairs.  I shouldn’t be surprised that a 90 pound dog could make such a mess…I’m more surprised that this dog Houdini has found a way to open his own crate.  Thank you Bissell Green for seeing us through this mess, which I continue to clean and re-clean, because I am just a tad OCD about those things.

Did I mention we are ill, in that coughing, snot-nosed, here comes bronchitis type of way?  Yeah, good times.  And I got a haircut this week, to which my son replied, “I don’t like it Mama- you look weird” and proceeded to come over to me and try to “fix” my hair.  Dealing with insurance and pharmacies today was a nightmare.  Note to those in the tranining profession: your employees still need to be able to think and make a decision which may not be outlined in your policy manual.  Critical thinking skills and sounds judgement are lost all too quickly and if this is a glimpse into Obama care, NO THANK YOU!  Our postal service sucks, our schools are among the worst of nations at our level of development, and now I am supposed to trust you with socialized medicine?  Absolutely not!  I really hope that Obama is enough of a democratic hot mess that it ensures Republican victory for many years to come.

Which brings us to up at 3am blogging because I cannot sleep, but the one thing I take comfort in is that God is at the helm.  My challenges this week were minor compared to what they could have been…I’m still thankful; just needed an outlet.  And it hit me, this week’s memory verse from a class I am taking at church could not have been more appropriate.  It was a beast to memorize, but I am glad I did.

“The heavens and the earth are yours, oh Lord, and this is your kingdom.  We adore you as being in control of everything.  Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the Ruler of all mankind.  Your hand controls power and might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength.”  I Chronicles 29:11-12
